Named Peril Coverage

This means we cover "perils" (fire, explosion, lightning, windstorm and hail damage) that are specifically named in your landlord policy, subject to policy exclusions and conditions.

Comprehensive Property Coverage

This option provides coverage for most direct, abrupt and accidental physical losses, subject to policy exclusions and conditions, that aren’t specifically excluded in your landlord policy. In many states, we offer comprehensive coverage on both the dwelling and other structures, such as a garage.

Replacement Cost

If you purchase a replacement cost policy and your rental dwelling is destroyed by an insured loss, the settlement reflects the cost to replace the damaged items with new property of comparable material and quality, without any deduction for depreciation.

Agreed Loss Settlement

If your home is destroyed by an insured loss, you receive the full amount of the agreed upon limit of insurance for your home (minus any applicable deductible). No hassles.

Liability Coverage

This provides coverage if you're found legally responsible for an accident that causes injury to someone who doesn't live in your home or causes property damage to another's property.

Actual Cash Value

If your home is destroyed by an insured loss, this can cover the cost to replace or repair your damaged property, with a deduction for depreciation, which reflects the age and condition of your home at the time of the loss.

Foremost can be a great solution for this! If you have a rental property that’s temporarily unoccupied while it’s between rental agreements, we can move it to a vacant policy through an endorsement – no need to cancel the old landlord policy, then write a new vacant policy, then cancel and get another new policy when the home is rented again. We make it easy for you to move your coverage back and forth.
You sure can. We consider a vacation and short-term rental home one that you rent out with a lease agreement of less than 12 months, and that absolutely fits in our landlord program.
